AWESOME TRIM and a Chipped Tub.

Look how crowded the kitchen is!  The workers were there doing a great job. :)

The cabinets that I will miss going in. I won't be able to check out the house for a whole week.  Oh my...what will I miss?  I bet you the flooring and the cabinets are all in by the time we get back.

Look at that trim!  The trim guy is working hard in this heat!  He's very good at his job.  I love it!

Look how nice that edge looks!

I love the trim around this window.  It looks awesome...and that's just my closet!

The most upsetting thing I've seen today.  We really splurged when we decided to get a jacuzzi tub.  I LOVE taking baths.  For some reason, they put a new tub in place of the old one.  I guess the PM saw that it wasn't in the same way as the model home and had ordered a new one.  They took it upstairs and redid the plumbing so that the faucet would be more out of the way just like the soaking tub is in the model home.  The only problem is that this new tub is cracked.  :(   I hate that.  I wish they would have just left things alone because I'd much rather have a faucet on the left than a cracked and broken tub.  I don't care where the faucet/drain is really....but I do really care about this cracked tub.   It's a brand new tub...there shouldn't be cracks.  There is only one solution I can think of for this situation.  What do you all think?  Please...I need advice.

The master bath cabinets!

Master bath mirror and some freak blocking the view to the awesome looking tile.  Geesh!

Totally kick *#& closet in the 4th bedroom!  (New Photography Office!)

I can't wait to use this countertop and sink!

The front stoop was poured and we have stairs!

The concrete apron. :) You can also see the front siding being started!

Watch out.  Concrete aprons can be scary.  Approach with CAUTION.

Another old home memory.

Sorry... I couldn't resist.  This is my ridiculous attempt at a family photo.  Ahh..old house memories.  We will finally have a backyard for days like these.  What a bunch of weirdos we are. :)
As you can see...Kaylee is not happy about leaving.  Ha ha.  I will miss the shade of these old trees.  It's the only reason we have green grass in this crazy weather.

The Ceiling is Finished? And The Cabinets Grew Feet!

Hello!  We got in tonight and took a few pictures.  I'll let you view the pics and check out the comments below them.  There are just a few concerns but I'm confident they will be fixed before closing which is less than 40 days away!!!!  (Fingers Crossed....we are waiting on Hubby's credit score to appear again).  Enjoy!
The siding on the left side of the house is done!  There is just a tiny little annoyance but I knew it was going to be there.  There is an  unaesthetic shadow in the siding where the two floors meet (and the house wrap overlaps).  You only will ever see it near sunset.  It is on every Ryan Home in this development.  I talked to the siding guy and he said he noticed that too so they try to feather it as much as possible in this area.  It looks like he did a pretty good job!

Look how small the humans are. My husband is carrying Kaylee around back.  He was looking for me. Ha ha..he said he didn't think I could walk that fast up the hill I was on.

My cabinets grew feet!  The last time we saw these they were in the garage.  I like the movement!

All of the vinyl flooring is down.  Here is our choice for the kitchen, morning room, front entrance and powder room.  We took the standard flooring in these parts because we are going to put our own hardwood down after closing. :)

The hallway bath has a new member too!

I liked it so much I took another.  Fairfield Maple Spice.

This is probably what I'm most excited about!  The tile is almost done in the master bath.  I LOVE IT!  See that hole part way down on the right?  I'm guessing that's for a soap dish.  We didn't ask for one and it speciafically said "NO SOAP DISH" on our paperwork from the flooring place.  I don't mind if they put one there though.  It would be cool if they did! :)

The decorative tile.  I can't wait to sit and look at this.  How Pretty!  I like it so much.  Lavender candles and bubbles and this pretty tile.  I can't wait!!!!!

Here it is again.  They obviously have to finish that back wall.

Here is the other side of the Master Bath. Finally...cabinets of my own.  His and Hers.  Yes!

My Jacuzzi again.  You can also see the cultured marble that will be installed soon.  I think it's going to look awesome!

Here is some of the ceiling.  You can see the knock down stipple.  I took this because of the nail pops.  It got really hot here and the humidity was insane.  I'm thinking that's what happened here.

I found some scratch marks on the ceiling.  I'm not sure if this is a big deal or not.  How often am I going to be looking up to analyze the marks in the ceiling?

You can see a little blob of plaster on the right here along the seam.  I will ask them to sand that.

Another little scratch in the ceiling.

The flooring in the front entry way! :)

The trim guys were there this evening.   They were moving trim and doors from the garage to their proper locations.  This must mean that the floor is going down very soon!

The only thing that really bothers me right now.  It is hard to see in this photo but if you look just above the ceiling fan rough in and turn your gaze towards the right of the photo you can see it.  The taping of the ceiling here looks horrible.  It is much more apparent when you are in the house.  You shouldn't see any type of seam here.  The PM told me it was a mistake and that they will be fixing it.  I hope so because this is definitely something that would bother me enough to not sign on the dotted line.  It looks super crappy in person.  I look forward to it being fixed. :)

More Siding Complete!

We stopped by the house tonight and saw some more siding!  We love how the white J-Channel accents the browns in the Stone Mountain Clay.  We are happy with our selections!
I can't wait to see it all done on the front!

It looks so big from this angle.

I think those piles of dirt are topsoil.

A little on the SIDE!

Hey you all!  I know it's been a few days.  All they've done is tape/mud the walls and ceiling early this week.  I will post photos of that excitement later this weekend after I get a chance to get in and take some shots.  Meanwhile....THEY STARTED THE SIDING!   Here is Stone Mountain Clay!

Electric Ready to Go!

Part of the Morning Room with Stone Mountain Clay.

The backside.  Soffit and Siding almost complete! There is still space waiting to be covered over that right window and underneath the sliding door.  I hope they do it soon! :)

Adding to the driveway?

Has anyone added a little width (like the size of a car) to their driveway?  I was just wondering.  I asked my PM about it and he gave me the number of the Asphalt guy.  He said I could just call and talk/pay him.  I called him and he never got back to me.  I hate calling someone just to force them to take my money.  Anyways....the PM said he would say something to him but they've poured the first coats of the asphalt and there is nothing extra on the side.  :(   I was thinking, if it didn't cost too much, that I would add it so that friends/family didn't have to park in the street.
If you have added asphalt, does anyone have any idea of the cost for it?  Thanks for you help!

By the way, the siding was delivered and they were on stilts last night mudding the ceilings. I hope to show you some pics of that this week!

An Early Morning Visit. Another Build and Some Details. Happy FATHER'S day!

First of all:  HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  To all you Dad's or soon to be Dad's or wanna be Dad's.  (Dad's is capitalized on Father's Day.....that's how it should be.)

I was up all night for some reason so I ventured out to the neighborhood this morning around 6am.  It was great lighting.  Here is what I was up to:
My new place.  My house is on the left. There are still some lots ready to be sold..but they are going fast!

One of my neighbors on the hill.  It looks like they are almost done siding it. Venice Elevation B. I think.

Here is there sliding glass door with the walkout basement.  I noticed they don't have brick underneath it either.  I wonder what Ryan Homes is going to do.  I just can't imagine them leaving it like that...but I can't assume things.
Here is their basement window.  It has a tiny little space above the window. Not as much as mine though.

Here's the space above my window.  There is a lot more.
Here is a close up of the Basement Sliding Glass Door on my house.  You can see the nailer on the door....but no nails because it's on the slab.  It looks to me like there is plenty of space to put the brick across.  My concern with doing nothing here is that part of the door is not supported.  It's just kind of hanging over this ledge.  Thoughts?  Ideas?  Does anyone know what they do?  And yes...I will be asking the PM. I asked one of the SR's and she wasn't sure.

Another view of the house.  Because I'm sure you want to see it again and again....just like me. :)

Ok...now for some details:

This is one of the things that kept me up last night.  I kept thinking about the placement of the faucet on my tub.  In the model it is placed on the right hand side against the wall.  Here...it's next to the walk in shower on the left.  At first I was upset that it wasn't like I expected it to be (like the model home) and then I realized that with the tub this way, my back would be against the wall and I could look into the bedroom or the rest of the bathroom while I was soaking.  So....no complaints here.  Having more things to view while I'm curing my arthritis is not a bad thing and this is the best placement for the faucet in that case.  I'd like to think my PM thought that through just for me...but I'm thinking it was just easier for the plumber.

I took this to remind me that there is a missing outlet here.  There should be an outlet on one of those studs.

Venting in the roof.  It's pink...so why not take a picture.  I noticed there seems to be a lack of it on the left side.                 Big deal or not?  I'm not sure.

They did the majority of the grading.  It's pretty nice.  We have a very large yard and I like that a lot.

Here is the best shot I could get of the countertops.  They come with the sink already in place.  I found this interesting.  I'm going to LOVE that gourmet island.  I can't wait until it is installed!

I had a "Thomas" moment here. But I don't have anything nearly as funny to say.  Just some info about a tub. This is an extra jacuzzi tub!  Maybe I won a prize and they're going to put this in my basement for me to enjoy a bath there too!  I wish.

The front stoop column has arrived!

The recessed light on the front stoop all ready to go.  The trim needs a little work..but there is still time.
